Water Housing for Nikon D5 Product Overview
We sell the C2500 Water Housing for Nikon D5 as a ready-to-use kit. Simply add your camera and lens, and you can start taking pictures in and around water.
The C2500 Water Housing for Nikon D5 is constructed from high-strength, extremely durable PU resin.
We have designed and built the controls with ergonomics in mind, using marine grade stainless steel and tough composites. The housing controls include a front shutter button and zoom control.
We secure an acrylic back plate using 6 recessed and captured hex drive stainless steel screws. Our 6-screw closure system ensures a tight, even seal while eliminating the problems of screw loss, corrosion, accidental opening and dangerous exposed metal edges.
The package of C2500 Water Housing for Nikon D5 uses the L Mount Port series for the Nikon lens series (and other dedicated third-party lens manufacturer). It includes the L-LP/65 port. Additionally, we have added a rugged left-side hand grip, an auxiliary front shutter button and enabled zoom control*.
The proprietary PGXII AF Dual Stage Pistol Grip allows you to both focus and fire with one button. We have lengthened the initial AF portion of the trigger stroke relative to the shutter release portion of the trigger stroke to give you greater AF control and avoid accidental misfires while swimming.
* Zoom lenses require a gear sleeve to engage the water housings zoom control. These are subject to additional cost.

About the Nikon D5
Updated in 2016, Nikon’s Flagship full-frame DSLR offers huge improvements in performance when compared to previous models – giving water sports and action photographers the ultimate tool for capturing peak moments on land or in the water.
The Nikon D5 is built upon a 20.8 MP FX-Format sensor and powered by an EXPEED 5 processor – offering high speed and low light performance previously unavailable in the Nikon range of SLRs. With a maximum ISO of 102,400, the Nikon D5 is capable of shooting in near total darkness – pushing the limits of what was previously considered possible with a DSLR.
Action sports and surf photographers can achieve up to 12 frames per second (fps) when shooting in continuous mode – for up to 200 RAW files. Additionally, the EXPEED 5 is paired with a second processor dedicated only to the autofocus – increasing the speed and accuracy of tracking fast-moving subjects both in the water and on land. The Nikon D5 boasts 153 focus points with 99 cross-type sensors – able to track even small subjects moving at high speed. As a tool for videographers, the Nikon D5 can shoot Ultra High Definition (UHD) video in cinematic 4K at 3,840 x 2,160 at up to 30 frames per second (fps). Full HD 1080p video is possible at up to 60 fps – additional video capabilities include in-camera time lapse and a built-in stereo microphone.
Widest ISO Range Ever
Nikon D5’s low light capabilities are truly a legend. Having the widest native ISO range of 100 to 102,400, as well as the highest expanded range of ISO 3,280,000, this camera will give you a whole new world of shooting opportunities. It also comes with noise reduction advancements, color fidelity, as well as a next generation Auto Focus system that performs even in near darkness. With the Nikon D5, you would be able to capture clear and sharp images that you may not have been able to do before. You can shoot at night and even inside dark arenas and reception halls. This camera can also be used for security and surveillance applications. It’s expanded ISO range allows you to get a good shot, which is not possible for other cameras without a flash.
Remarkable Image Quality
The masterful imaging power of the Nikon D5 is truly exhilarating. With the newly developed 20.8 megapixel CMOS sensor, this camera is equipped with the highest resolution of all full frame Nikon cameras. In this camera, Nikon’s remarkable image processor has been fully upgraded in order to harness the power of the superb new sensor and the second processor that has been added specifically for the autofocus. All the exquisite textures and details, including those with rich tonality and vivacious colors can be possibly captured with this camera. It’s capable of capturing photos in flawless precision even under extremely low light. Indeed, Nikon D5 lets you create images that will move people.
Ability to Capture Decisive Moments
D5 is known for shooting at full speed. Having 12 fps speed with full time Auto Focus and AE, this camera has certainly changed the game in the world of photography. For first timers of Nikon DSLRs, there’s a second processor dedicated solely for the autofocus computing and operation. There’s also a new shutter as well as a mirror-sequencing mechanism that almost eliminates blackout time. It also comes with a mirror slap to achieve bright and consistent views when taking images at high speed.
Fastest and Most Accurate AF Systems
Nikon D5 introduces a new era of Auto Focus with its Multi Cam 20K Auto Focus sensor module. It makes use of 153 focus points with 99 cross type sensors that are a fully dedicated Auto Focus processor. The sensors allow the camera to work even in near darkness. Those small subjects that are moving at high speed can be tracked with sharp precision even under low light.
Flexibility in Moviemaking
For the first time, it’s now possible to record an ultra high definition video with maximum image quality with the Nikon D5. The camera allows you to capture 3840 x 2160 at an angle range of about 1.5x focal length or record a full High Definition video. With this camera, you will be able to enjoy all professional video capabilities and simultaneous internal an external recording.
