Launched in early 2016, the Sony Alpha α6300 Mirrorless Camera continued to improve the features that made the Alpha α6000 so popular with photographers and videographers.
Built around a 24.2 megapixel APS-C CMOS digital sensor and powered by a BIONZ X image processor – capable of producing photos at a burst rate of 11 frames per second (fps) and continuously focusing. Improving on the autofocus system of the Alpha α6000, the Alpha α6300 features one of the world’s fastest autofocus systems – a new 4D FOCUS has 425 phase detection AF points which densely cover the imaging area.
Videographers are able to shoot at full Ultra HD 4K quality video at up to 30 frames per second (fps) with the Alpha α6300. The 425-point autofocus system works even in video mode, enabling the tracking of moving subjects with live video. Full HD video capture is possible at up to 120 frames per second (fps), enabling high definition slow motion video.
With an ISO range of 100-51,200, the Sony Alpha α6300 enables surf and action sports photographers to capture surf and underwater images in a wide range of lighting conditions – as well as night photography. Weighing in at an ultralightweight 1 pound, and half the size of a traditional DSLR, the alloy body of the Alpha α6300 is likewise, its predecessor the α6000, light enough for a long swim, strong and sturdy for work in the field. The 4K movie-recording feature of Sony α6300 is in a Super 35 mm format and has a pixel readout with no pixel binning up to 2.4 times as much information as what is basically required for the 4K. The data is rich, having an equivalent of 6K data, and thus, it can clearly convey remarkable resolution on 4K images.
The Sony α6300 features a focal phase detection Auto Focus even if the A-mount lens is mounted with a mount adapter from Sony.
