About The Sony A6300

Launched in early 2016, the Sony Alpha α6300 Mirrorless Camera continued to improve the features that made the Alpha α6000 so popular with photographers and videographers.

Built around a 24.2 megapixel APS-C CMOS digital sensor and powered by a BIONZ X image processor – capable of producing photos at a burst rate of 11 frames per second (fps) and continuously focusing. Improving on the autofocus system of the Alpha α6000, the Alpha α6300 features one of the world’s fastest autofocus systems – a new 4D FOCUS has 425 phase detection AF points which densely cover the imaging area.

Videographers are able to shoot at full Ultra HD 4K quality video at up to 30 frames per second (fps) with the Alpha α6300. The 425-point autofocus system works even in video mode, enabling the tracking of moving subjects with live video. Full HD video capture is possible at up to 120 frames per second (fps), enabling high definition slow motion video.

With an ISO range of 100-51,200, the Sony Alpha α6300 enables surf and action sports photographers to capture surf and underwater images in a wide range of lighting conditions – as well as night photography. Weighing in at an ultralightweight 1 pound, and half the size of a traditional DSLR, the alloy body of the Alpha α6300 is likewise, its predecessor the α6000, light enough for a long swim, strong and sturdy for work in the field. The camera body is also weather sealed for durability in and around the surf. Selling for less than $900, the Alpha α6300 is still an extremely affordable choice for getting started in water and action sports photography.

Silent Shooting Mode

The camera’s silent shooting mode releases the camera’s shutter without any sound even if it’s done in a continuous shooting motion of up to 3fps through the AF/AE tracking. Thus, it is very convenient to use the camera for shooting indoors and even when taking images of outdoor wildlife. It also works remarkably in other situations wherein silence is absolutely essential. To turn the silent shooting mode on and off in a more intuitive manner, it is possible to assign the mode into a customizable button.

Full High Definition 120fps Shooting

With the Sony α6300 Mirrorless Camera, it is possible to shoot high quality full high definition footage even with full HD of 120 fps, or with high speed shooting Auto Focus tracking in a high bitrate of as much as 100 mbps. It’s also possible for the Sony α6300 to record at 4x/5x in slow motion movies internally if the frame ret is set at 30p or 24p.

S-Gamut/S-Log Shooting

The S-Gamut/S-Log shooting feature provides users the flexibility to create more expressive movies through performing color grading during postproduction. The S-Log2 and S-Log3 gamma curves come with a wide dynamic range of up to 1300 percent. Thus, it is highly possible to minimize blackout and whiteout. Moreover, the α6300 Mirrorless Camera offers a more impressive 14 stop latitude when set in an S-Log3 gamma setting. The camera also supports the S-Gamut3, S-Gamut2 and S-Gamut Cine Color space of Sony.

4K Recording

The 4K movie-recording feature of Sony α6300 is in a Super 35 mm format and has a pixel readout with no pixel binning up to 2.4 times as much information as what is basically required for the 4K. The data is rich, having an equivalent of 6K data, and thus, it can clearly convey remarkable resolution on 4K images.

Focal Plane Phase Detection AF For A-Mount Lenses

The Sony α6300 features a focal phase detection Auto Focus even if the A-mount lens is mounted with a mount adapter from Sony. Thus, you can take advantage of the Auto Focus system’s unique wide coverage that’s provided through 425 focal plane phase detection AF points and a fast fluid tracking performance if shooting using other lenses, including E-mount lenses.

XGA OLED Tru-Finder

The Sony α6300 features a high resolution and high contrast XGA OLED Tru-Finder. This feature reproduces color and darkness in an extremely fine detail, including a mode to display images having a higher frame rate of as much as 120 fps. With this feature, you will be able to easily and smoothly see action and track images easily with this viewfinder.
